To the editor:

One of the main questions I'd like to see the candidates for the sheriff"s office to answer is, are they willing to let twelve-step meetings resume in the county jail.

More than 90 percent of the inmates are there due to drug or alcohol-related crimes, and there is nothing to help them when they get out to find a different path to follow.

There haven't been any meetings in over 10 years that I know of.
